Health News You Can Use
Infectious disease care and travel medicine preparation at Harborview
Infectious disease doctors and specialists evaluate and treat patients 16 years and older for the entire spectrum of infectious diseases. Treatment for endocarditis, osteomyelitis, post-operative infections, skin and soft tissue infections, extrapulmonary tuberculosis and other mycobacterial infections, fever of unknown origin, and infections following overseas travel (including tropical infections) represent many of the conditions we treat.
Our board-certified infectious disease physicians work closely with specialists throughout the center to provide thorough, patient-centered care.
We also provide complete pretravel counseling, evaluations and immunizations if you’re planning on traveling outside of North America. We’re a Washington State Department of Health-authorized provider for yellow fever vaccine. We recommend making a pretravel clinic appointment four to six weeks before your departure to allow for appropriate timing of vaccines.
Our services include physical exam, lab testing, treatment, patient education and pre- and post-travel evaluations, including immunizations and malaria prevention.
