We bring UW Medicine providers to you on your schedule through connected care solutions.

Get primary and specialty care for you and your family from home (or anywhere in Washington state). You’ll receive the same personalized medical care that you would in a face-to-face visit. All care is provided by UW Medicine providers. 

Virtual care options

On-demand video visits

Start an on-demand video visit today in MyChart with the first available primary care provider who can diagnose and outline care options. Interpreters are available. Available 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.

Scheduled telemedicine visits

Schedule a telemedicine video visit in advance with your UW Medicine provider for follow up care, management of chronic conditions, and consultations. Interpreters are available. Available during regular clinic hours. Call 206.520.5100 or log in to your MyChart account to schedule.

E-Visit questionnaires

Current patients can get care by filling out a questionnaire in MyChart and a provider will respond with a care plan. Submit anytime and a provider will respond in 1-2 days. 

When to use this service: For the treatment of health needs such as pink eye, UTI/bladder problems and motion sickness prevention. See the full list of health concerns that can be treated via E-Visit questionnaires.

Messages to care team

Current patients can message their care team in MyChart to seek medical advice. Available during regular clinic hours.

When to use this service: For new medication requests, questions about new symptoms or problems, new referrals and more.

When do I need an in-person visit instead?

In-person visits are a better fit for any health concern where a physical examination is necessary to make an accurate diagnosis, for instance, if you have pneumonia, or when procedures are needed, such as immunizations or care for deep lacerations or fractures.

Is virtual care covered by my insurance?

UW Medicine virtual care services will be billed to your insurance. Coverage details vary by insurer. Please contact your insurance provider with questions and to confirm your out-of-pocket costs. 

Can I get virtual care if I am outside of Washington state?

Because of state licensing laws, our providers may not be able to see you via our virtual care services if you are outside of Washington state. Please contact your care team by phone or through MyChart if you have questions about your upcoming appointments.
