About Valerie Regina Ross
Valerie Ross, M.S. is a psychotherapist and a licensed marriage and family therapist at UW Medicine Primary Care at Northgate, director of the Behavioral Science and Psychiatry curriculum for the UW Family Medicine Residency Program and a UW senior lecturer of Family Medicine.
Ross counsels individuals, couples and families who face problems with depression, anxiety, chronic illness, loss, stress and other psychological issues.
Ross earned her M.S. from Seattle Pacific University. Her clinical interests include depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment to life stress, post-traumatic stress disorder and relationship issues. Her research interests include resident education, including doctor-patient communication, narrative medicine, direct observation in training, complexity in primary care, promotion of self-awareness in trainees and relationship-centered care.
Personal Interests
In her spare time, Ross enjoys playing and listening to classical music, practicing yoga and chi gong, meditating, hiking, traveling and getting outdoors.
