Thomas O. Staiger, M.D. is a general internist at the University of Washington Medical Center.

Dr. Staiger earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and his M.D. from the University of Washington. He completed his residency in primary care internal medicine at the University of Washington. He earned a certificate in medical management at the University of Washington in 2004. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a past chair of the Society of General Internal Medicine's Clinical Practice Committee.

Dr. Staiger's clinical interests include treatment of low back pain, physician-patient communication and primary care of orthopedic problems.

Dr. Staiger believes effective communication between patients and their physicians is essential for quality care. He enjoys getting to know patients over time and getting them involved in preserving and enhancing their health.
