About Sumangala Vasudevan
Sumangala Vasudevan, MD, is a board-certified physician in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and is a UW Medicine clinical assistant professor.
Dr. Vasudevan chose endocrinology because of her personal interest in treating patients with diabetes. As with most chronic diseases, she believes that patients with diabetes need good patient-doctor relationship to achieve best possible outcomes. She strives hard to achieve this in all her patients in order to prevent long term complications from diabetes. She also has interest in other diseases of endocrine system including thyroid, parathyroid, bone disorders like osteoporosis.
Dr. Vasudevan earned her MD from Coimbatore Medical College in India. She is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology. Her research and clinical interests include type 1 and type 2 diabetes, thyroid disease and osteoporosis.
