About Stephen C. Johnson
Stephen Johnson, MD, MS, RMSK is a board-certified physician at the Sports Medicine Center at Husky Stadium and at the Sports Medicine Center at Harborview Medical Center. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine (Sports and Spine Division) at the University of Washington.
Dr. Johnson aims to provide his patients with accurate diagnosis, sound treatment, professional guidance to promote educated health choices, and personal encouragement so his patients can take an active role in their own healthcare.
Dr. Johnson earned his MD at the University of Toledo, Ohio with Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honors. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Pain Medicine. He is also certified in Musculoskeletal Sonography (RMSK®) and Neuromuscular Ultrasound (American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine).
Dr. Johnson teaches musculoskeletal ultrasound locally at UW and nationally as an ultrasound instructor for the Spine Intervention Society.
His clinical interests include non-operative diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal and sports injuries, diagnostic musculoskeletal and neuromuscular ultrasound, regenerative medicine (e.g. PRP, Tenex), spine medicine, interventional pain procedures, and electrodiagnostic medicine.
His research interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound applications and efficacy of interventional pain procedures.
Personal Interests
During his spare time, Dr. Johnson enjoys hiking, running and playing basketball.
