Serenity Serafini, PT, DPT, RYT, is a doctor of physical therapy. Dr. Serafini specializes in treating pelvic health and pregnancy/postpartum related dysfunction and pain. She completed her physical therapy education at Long Island University and has attended internships at The University of Chicago, New York University, and Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, a pelvic health specialty clinic in New York City, where she received hands-on training in orthopedics, functional manual therapy, and pelvic health rehabilitation.
Her clinical interests include chronic pelvic pain and colorectal dysfunction. Dr. Serafini weaves together modern rehabilitation medicine principles, holistic lifestyle medicine, and yogic approaches to create individualized care plans in partnership with her patients. At the heart of her practice, Dr. Serafini seeks to promote an environment of safety, inclusivity, empowerment, and healing through the lens of trauma informed care. With a background in medical anthropology and psychology, she is interested in the role that socio-cultural and psychological factors play in our health and wellness, especially that of our pelvis, and integrates this knowledge into her treatment style. Dr. Serafini enjoys helping patients to better understand their bodies and guiding them to find strategies that can be used to reach their goals.
In her spare time, Serenity loves spending time with her husband and two dogs, cooking meals from all over the world, learning about ancient history and folklore, and making pottery. In addition to her work as a physical therapist, Serenity is also a registered yoga teacher and enjoys educating on the topics of yoga, chronic pain, the mind body connection, and pelvic health.
