About Ryan J. Jense
Ryan Jense, M.D., is a board certified anesthesiologist at UW Medical Center and a UW assistant professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and adjunct associate professor of Global Health.
In addition to general anesthesia, Dr. Jense is an expert in regional anesthesia and perioperative care. He strives for excellence in anesthetic care through the use of modern total-intravenous-anesthesia techniques, and provides advanced pain care through ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques.
Dr. Jense earned his M.D. from the UW. He is a recipient of the American Medical Association’s Physician Leadership Award for his work in the provision and advocacy of surgical and anesthetic care on the global health front. His clinical and research interests include global health systems development throughout the most underserved areas of the globe, medical device development to improve intravenous medication delivery, perioperative surgical infection control and policy development.
Personal Interests
Dr. Jense is the happy daddy of two beautiful daughters. He enjoys any time that he can get to be outside. He loves the mountains and the seasons, especially fall and winter. He enjoys cooking, climbing, hiking, skiing and drawing.
