About Pingping Song
Dr. Song specializes in anesthetizing patients undergoing complex open-heart surgery, minimally invasive and catheter-based structure heart disease intervention, as well as major thoracic and vascular procedures. As a critical care physician, she also takes care of patients in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit after their major surgery. Dr. Song strives to be the leader in providing patient-centric and team-based perioperative care.
Dr. Song earned her M.D. at Beijing Medical University in China. She is board certified in anesthesiology, advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography and critical care medicine. Her clinical interests include anesthesia for patients with advanced heart failure, ventricular assisting device and complex structural heart disease intervention. Her research interest includes patient outcome improvement, enhanced recovery after cardiac surgery and extracorporeal life support.
Personal Interests
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Song engages in outdoor activities with her friends and family. She especially enjoys hiking, biking and traveling.
