About Peter J. Leary
Peter Leary, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified physician and Director of the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program at UW Medical Center and a UW Medicine Associate Professor of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Leary believes his role is to counsel and educate his patients through careful, clear, and comprehensive communication, especially when their disease is serious and future uncertain.
Dr. Leary earned his M.D. from Johns Hopkins and his Ph.D. in Epidemiology from UW Medicine. His clinical interests include pulmonary vascular disease including pulmonary arterial hypertension, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, and a range of diseases complicated by pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Leary is active in both national and local research endeavors for patients with pulmonary vascular disease and has taught about the disease nationally and internationally.
Personal Interests
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Leary enjoys being a father, kayaking, reading and being outdoors.
