About Nazem Akoum
Nazem Akoum, MD, MS, is a board certified cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist. He is the section head of Cardiac Electrophysiology, Graham and Brenda Siddall Endowed Professor in Arrhythmia Research, Director of the Atrial Fibrillation Program, and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. His clinical interests include treating patients with atrial fibrillation, flutter and other supraventricular tachycardias, ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation, as well as slow and premature heartbeats. He has more than a decade of experience utilizing the latest technologies in catheter ablation, cardiac imaging and device implants for pacing and stroke prevention.
Dr. Akoum's approach to care is to listen to his patients first. He values building partnerships with his patients to set treatment goals and action plans to achieve the best possible outcomes.
