About Michael P. Porter
Michael Porter, M.D., M.S., is a board certified urologist at the Urology Clinic at UW Medical Center and a UW associate professor of Urology and an adjunct associate professor of Epidemiology.
Dr. Porter performs a range of urologic surgeries. He also has expertise in minimally invasive techniques. He works closely with oncologists and radiation oncologists to provide a comprehensive approach to treating urinary tract cancer. He believes in providing high quality, patient-centered care. This involves knowing patients and encouraging them to participate in the treatment decision process.
Dr. Porter earned his M.D. at the University of Iowa and his M.S. at the UW. His clinic interests include surgical management of diseases of the urinary tract. He instructs residents in the clinic and operating room, mentors residents on research projects and gives the annual medical student lecture on prostate diseases.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Porter enjoys spending free time with his family, biking, hiking, playing baseball and basketball with his sons, taking road trips around the Northwest, running, golf and music.
