About Maziar Khorsandi
Maziar Khorsandi, MD, FRCS C/Th, is an adult cardiothoracic surgeon who has a special interest in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. Dr. Khorsandi received his medical degree (MBChB/MD) in the United Kingdom. Dr. Khorsandi’s clinical interest include; general adult cardiac surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting surgery, structural heart disease, heart transplantation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and ventricular assist device placements
Dr. Khorsandi believes in a patient-centric and team approach to clinical care. He aims to treat every patient as if they were a member of his own family. The greatest reward is for him to see patients return to normal activity following major cardiac surgery.
Dr. Khorsandi is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the UW School of Medicine. He is active in clinical research and his goal is to amalgamate most current and up-to-date knowledge with bedside patient care.
