About Mary T. Akers
Mary Akers, D.N.P., A.R.N.P., N.N.P.-B.C., is a doctor of nursing practice at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UW Medical Center.
Dr. Akers works with neonatologists to care for acute and chronically ill infants, educate families and improve outcomes.
Dr. Akers earned her A.R.N.P. at the University of Portland and her D.N.P. and N.N.P. at Rush University in Chicago, where she was the recipient of the Golden Lamp Society Award for excellence in neonatal care, leadership and service. Her clinical and research interests include translating research into practice, developmental care and care of the premature infant.
