About Kari A. Stephens
Kari Stephens, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist with UW Medicine, a UW assistant professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and an adjunct assistant professor of Biomedical Informatics and Medical Education.
Dr. Stephens provides psychological evaluations and psychotherapy with evidenced-based treatments focused on cognitive behavioral therapy to improve her patients’ overall quality of life. She strives to create active partnerships with her patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Stephens’ earned her Ph.D. at the UW. Her clinical interests include trauma, chronic pain, posttraumatic stress, depression, anxiety, addiction and working with disadvantaged populations. Her research interests include disparities in mental health and services, posttraumatic stress, dissemination of evidenced-based behavioral treatments to integrated care settings, and clinical health informatics with a focus on data sharing to promote translational research with communities.
Personal Interests
In addition to providing care to her patients, Dr. Stephens enjoys adventuring, family time, outdoor and water activities, and crafting.
