About Karen Michelle Rico
Karen Rico, MS, MD is an internal medicine resident. Dr. Rico aims to provide patient-centered, evidence-based and culturally competent care. She believes in teaching patients so that they can participate in their medical decision process.
Dr. Rico's clinical interests include hospital medicine and chronic disease management. She is interested in caring for patients during their most vulnerable times, such as an inpatient admission. She intends to ease the transition from an inpatient setting to the outpatient clinic by providing comprehensive education on disease management, coordinated care, and close monitoring of the disease process.
Personal Interests
In her free time, Dr. Rico enjoys boxing and learning new self-defense techniques. She likes cooking healthy foods that are fast and easy to make. She also enjoys running, swimming and likes to explore new places.
