About Joy C Chen
Joy Chen, MD, MS, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained colon and rectal surgeon. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at UW School of Medicine. Dr. Chen sees patients at UW Medical Center - Montlake, UW Medical Center- Northwest, as well as the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
Dr. Chen's clinical interests include colon, rectal and anal cancers; diverticular disease; and pelvic floor disorders. She is fully trained in minimally invasive surgical approaches including laparoscopy, robotic surgery and transanal minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Chen also performs colonoscopy for various indications including colorectal cancer screening and surveillance.
Dr. Chen believes that every patient should have access to high-quality, evidence-driven care. She values a patient-focused, collaborative approach to patient care and decision making, and therefore takes time to listen to each patient's unique perspective.
