About Jon Weinstein
Jon Weinstein, M.D., Ph.D., is a board certified neurologist at UW Medical Center and Harborview and a UW associate professor of Neurology and an adjunct associate professor of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Weinstein oversees acute management of stroke patients and sees patients in general neurology wards. He strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Weinstein earned his M.D. and Ph.D. at UC Irvine. He is board certified in both Neurology and Vascular Neurology. He runs an NIH-funded basic science research lab characterizing cellular and molecular mechanisms that occur in the brain following stroke. The lab also studies ischemic preconditioning, neuroinflammation and role of glial cells in stroke pathophysiology.
Personal Interests
Dr. Weinstein enjoys exploring Seattle and Northwest with family, hiking, bicycling, skiing, playing piano and trumpet and listening to the symphony and opera.
