About Hunter B. Wessells
Hunter Wessells, M.D., is president of UW Physicians, a board certified physician at the Urology Clinic at Harborview and the Men's Health Clinic at UWMC-Roosevelt, UW's chair of Urology and a UW professor of Urology and adjunct professor of Surgery.
Dr. Wessells strives to provide state-of-the-art care of complex urogenital disorders.
Dr. Wessells earned his M.D. at Georgetown University. He has published more than 75 journal articles or book chapters, is the recipient of numerous teaching awards and lectures internationally. He serves as a permanent member of the National Institutes of Health, is a member of the Advisory Committee for Urology of the American College of Surgeons and has served on the WHO International Consultations on Erectile and Sexual Dsyfunction. A medicine developed by Dr. Wessells and collaborators at the University of Arizona is in clinical trials for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Wessells enjoys sailing, rowing, bicycling, organic gardening, skiing and spending time with his family.
