About Gregory William Terman
Gregory Terman, M.D., Ph.D., is a board certified anesthesiologist and director of the Acute Pain Service at UW Medical Center. He is also a UW professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
Guiding patients to walk the line between reducing pain so they can function is what pain management is all about. Dr. Terman enjoys helping patients accomplish this balancing act in the peri-operative setting, where both pain and pain medicines can have serious medical effects on the patient's overall health.
Dr. Terman earned his M.D. at the University of Miami and his Ph.D. at UCLA. He is a member of the UW Graduate Program in Neuroscience and has run an NIH funded laboratory studying pain mechanisms. Dr. Terman is past president of the American Pain Society. His recent research has focused on the mechanisms and neurochemistry of opiate tolerance.

In his free time Dr. Terman enjoys Seattle sports in general and Husky sports in particular.
