About Craig B. Birgfeld
Craig Birgfeld, M.D., is a surgeon at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Clinics at Harborview and a UW associate professor of Surgery and director for the UW Fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery in the division of plastic surgery
Dr. Birgfeld's approach to patient care is to consider his patients as members of his family. He strives to give each person the absolute best care possible and goes to great lengths to ensure that patients and their families understand the reason for surgery and the expected outcome and recovery.
Dr. Birgfeld's clinical interests focus on congenital abnormalities of the skull and face in children and adults. His primary research focus is Craniofacial Microsomia and measuring outcomes of surgery and improvements in patients' quality of life. His teaching focus is on Plastic Surgery residents and Craniofacial fellows. He expects to graduate the absolute best plastic and craniofacial surgeons in the country every year.
Personal Interests
When not at work, Dr. Birgfeld enjoys skiing with family, swimming, cycling and going for long hikes.
