Brant Oelschlager, MD, FACS, is a board-certified surgeon, Director of Surgical Specialties at the Esophageal & Gastric Diseases Clinic at UW Medical Center - Montlake, Chief of General Surgery, the UW's Byers Endowed Professor of Esophageal Research and Surgery and a Professor of Surgery at UW School of Medicine.

Dr. Oelschlager specializes in esophageal and gastric surgery as well as operations of the gastrointestinal tract. He has extensive experience in advanced minimally invasive procedures and has pioneered many of these techniques and procedures in the Pacific Northwest. His philosophy is to provide patient-focused care and communication. His goal is to provide the most effective, least-invasive surgical treatment to reduce recovery time and discomfort.

Dr. Oelschlager’s research interests follow his clinical interests. He is passionate about new ideas to perform less invasive operations with better outcomes, and change the delivery of care to provide improved quality of life for patients.
