About Barbara J. Silko
Barbara J. Silko, A.R.N.P., Ph.D. is a nurse practitioner seeing gynecology oncology patients at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. In addition, she is co-director and also sees patients in the Women's Wellness Clinic, a gynecologic and breast cancer survivorship clinic at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
Dr. Silko earned her bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Wisconsin and her master's degree in nursing focusing on adult women's health at the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire. She earned her Ph.D. in nursing science at the University of Washington focusing on women's self-care practices in health promotion. She has been working in gynecologic oncology since 1996.
Dr. Silko is board certified in family practice and advanced nursing practice. She enjoys working with patients who are in all of the various phases of cancer care, from initial diagnosis, through treatment, and into after-treatment care and surveillance.
Personal Interests
Dr. Silko enjoys gardening, baking, cooking and outdoor activities.
