Annette Wundes, MD, is a neurologist who specializes in multiple sclerosis (MS). She is greatly invested in improving patient outcomes, wellbeing, and care for people living with MS and related demyelinating and autoimmune diseases of the central nervous system. Dr. Wundes is the Medical Director Neurology of the Multiple Sclerosis Center at UW Medical Center - Montlake and is actively engaged in clinical MS care and MS research. She also directs the UW School of Medicine multiple sclerosis fellowship training program to address the shortage of neurologists who understand how to treat MS.

Dr. Wundes engages in a comprehensive patient care approach, focusing on differentiating multiple sclerosis from other mimicking medical conditions. She aims for the best outcome for each of her patients by incorporating an individual’s goals, needs, and experiences. She supports individualized, interdisciplinary symptom management and optimized disease-modifying therapies. She is very familiar with newer and evolving treatment options when needed.

She repeatedly has received the UW PRAISE Award (Patient Reported Assessment In Satisfaction and Excellence) and was recognized for receiving this award in 5 consecutive years. Dr. Wundes was also awarded the national 2017 Hall of Fame Health Care Professional Volunteer Award by the National MS Society.

Dr. Wundes' is an associate professor of neurology and adjunct associate professor of rehabilitation medicine at UW School of Medicine. She very actively engaged in the local MS community and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) including serving on the NMSS’s board of trustees since 2011.
