Dr. Stacey knows his stuff. He was able to discuss his medical opinion in clearly understandable terms. When I used professional-level medical or technical terminology, he did not try to reduce what I was saying back to layman's terms. (Many doctors patronize this way, assuming that one cannot possibly understand medical terminology.)

Dr. Stacey is so personable! He doesn't sugar coat anything, tells you what is what, and shares his thoughts and any concerns. He also is very familiar with my case, and the most recent findings of that day's examination of image results. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Stacey.

Dr. Stacey literally saved my vision. I've been his patient for a few years now but on one of the routine exam a few years back, he did a thorough eye exam with a dilation, he discovered a retinal detachment and I was able to get the laser surgery to fix it. Had it not for him, I'm sure it would have gotten worse. Moreover, Dr. Stacey's calm and friendly demeanor really reassured me and I wish he could be my other health care provider as well. I really appreciate how well Dr. Stacey communicated with me, taking care to explain everything so clearly and making me feel heard and cared for. About Andrew W. Stacey
Andrew Stacey, M.D., M.S., is an Ophthalmologist at the Eye Institute at Harborview and a UW assistant professor of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Stacey knows an appointment with your doctor can be stressful. He enjoys teaching patients about what he sees in their eyes and providing them with information and options.
Dr. Stacey earned his M.D. at Ohio State and his M.S. at Brigham Young University, where he was a linebacker on the football team. He has authored many publications and book chapters related to ocular tumors and maintains numerous national and international research collaborations in the field.

In his free time, Dr. Stacey enjoys running, mountain biking, fly fishing and being in the mountains with his family.
