Dr. Starosta is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington. She is an attending psychologist on the Rehabilitation Psychology Consultation Service and works with both inpatients and outpatients at Harborview Medical Center.

Dr. Starosta earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at University at Albany, State University of New York. She completed a residency at Denver Health Medical Center and a MIRECC/CoE VA Advanced Fellowship in Mental Illness Research and Treatment at the Denver VA.

Her clinical interests include pain management, coping with injury and disability, multidisciplinary care, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Research interests include chronic pain management, the intersection of traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, and co-occurring psychiatric conditions, and integration of psychology into medical settings.
