About Amanda Focht
Amanda Focht, M.D., is the medical director of outpatient psychiatry at the University of Washington, Seattle. Dr. Focht is experienced in evaluating and treating patients who have a range of psychiatric conditions, and skilled at providing medications and psychotherapies to address patients' individual needs.
Dr. Focht’s clinical interests include bipolar and related disorders; dementia and other neurocognitive disorders; depressive disorders; dissociative disorders; neurocognitive disorders; obsessive compulsive and related disorders; panic disorder; personality disorders; phobias; schizophrenia; psychotic disorders; seasonal affective disorder; trauma; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); disasters; administration and practice management; geriatric psychiatry; and primary care psychiatry.
Because the manifestation of psychiatric symptoms in each person is different, Dr. Focht strives to develop an understanding of her patients and how best to help them, and then collaborate closely with them to develop an individualized treatment approach.
Personal Interests
In her spare time, Dr. Focht enjoys traveling, reading, hiking and relaxing with her family.
