About Alexander A. Vitin
Alexander Vitin, M.D., Ph.D., is an anesthesiologist at UW Medical Center, and a UW associate professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and adjunct associate professor of Surgery.
Dr. Vitin provides anesthesia service for all surgical procedures with a special focus on transplant procedures. He believes in creating active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Vitin earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from Kharkov Medical University, Ukraine. He is an active researcher, publishing 45 refereed articles and serving as investigator for several research projects in transplant anesthesia for liver and kidney transplant, two of which are currently in development.
Personal Interests
Dr. Vitin enjoy outdoor photography, computer technology, sports like hiking, bicycling, swimming and target shooting (but not hunting, he opposes killing animals for sport). He loves traveling and some camping. He is also a lifelong dog lover.
