About Idaho WWAMI
Since 1972, the University of Idaho has partnered with the UW School of Medicine to help educate and provide training for Idaho’s future physicians. Idaho WWAMI students - all Idaho residents - begin their training at the University of Idaho, where they complete the first 18 months of the curriculum, known as the Foundations Phase. Students then move into the Clinical Phase, where they participate in required and elective clinical experiences. If desired, nearly all clinical clerkships can occur in urban and/or rural settings in Idaho or across the WWAMI region, depending on the student's interests.
