Only one application needs to be submitted. If you have applied for Apple Health Expansion on or after June 20, 2024, and were denied because the enrollment cap was met, there are no additional steps to take. There is a possibility you may be randomly selected to enroll if space opens in the program. If selected for enrollment, you will receive an eligibility notice through your preferred communication method (email or mail).
What is Apple Health Expansion?
This is a new program to help with healthcare expenses for adults who do not have insurance and do not meet immigration requirements for other Apple Health programs. Apple Health Expansion coverage is free; there are no out-of-pocket costs or copays. This insurance will cover, with some limitations, primary care, emergency visits, maternity services, pediatric care, dental services, vision care, prescription medications and more. Who is eligible?
You may be eligible if space is available for Apple Health Expansion coverage if you:
- Are a Washington state resident age 19 or older.
- Have a countable income under 138% of the federal poverty level.*
- Do not qualify for other Apple Health programs based on immigration status.
- Are not pregnant or did not have a pregnancy end in the last 12 months.
- Are not currently eligible for qualified health plans (QHP) with advance premium tax credits (APTC), or federally funded medical assistance programs.

What will I need to apply if space becomes available?
- Proof of your identity: Driver’s License, Passport, Other (See other options)
- Proof of your income: Pay statement or other documentation showing monthly or annual earnings
- Be prepared to verify your identity using documents available on the acceptable documents list (leer en Espanol).

Which Apple Health Expansion plans include UW Medicine in-network?
